Not sure whether to post this here or in computer section.

I can play CD's & DVD's on my TV and computer, no problem. However I have several CD's of books etc scanned, obviously on a computer. These are are not playable on the TV. I understand that two different recording systems are used.

I'd like to read these book collections on the TV. Is there any converter etc available?

There are free file converters on the net, i use VLC (which is a video player but you can convert file formats) Shotcut and VSDC for videos, Gimp for pictures, these will convert most files ie from MP4>avi, avi>MP4 etc etc and lots of other file formats, but these can be hard to use (makes my brain boggle sometimes)

But i'm not sure if they will convert a file for reading pages, but you can try, make sure you have a saved copy first

Someone else may have a best idea than me as i'm not tech minded (well only basic tech minded :heehee:)

To be able to answer fully, we would need to know what format they were scanned in? Are they PDF's?

As jiffy said, its the file format, a modern version of betamax v VHS, use the file converter, just download the converter software for free, open said software and agree user agreement etc, close program, find the file you wish to convert, put the mouse pointer over said file, and right click the file, choose the open with option, and choose the converter program in the options available, once the program is open, you will have drop down menus, choose the file format either .avi or.mp4, both will play on a tv that is under 10 years of age, click the convert button, and then save, burn it to a cd, or put on a usb memory stick, put the cd usb stick into tv, select that imput device on the tv, and hey presto.
