I was reading an article about tomatoes ,it mentioned to have the best crop you leave a whole tomato to shrivel up then plant it whole ,it then went on to say it was the best crop ever! just wondered whether anyone has tried it! [IMG]

I save tomatoes and have collected the seed when they've dried out. This year I just took them fresh and washed them. They germinated well.
The problem I see with planting a whole tomato is that you'll get hundreds of liitle plants all one on top of each other. It is what would happen in the wild though, isn't it?

I have got one of those 'clumps' in the greenhouse from a last year's tomato. It's an interesting looking tuft and I am leaving it to see what happens.
