    Any advice on pruning or cutting back? We have four of these and they are getting very woody near the base. They were planted as small shrubs last year.

    Hi, again! This species can grow to a height of 6 metres or more with a similar spread so will make a dense cover. Like any scrambler/climber a good massacre would keep it under control. Ideally they should be pruned in the Autumn but I can't see where doing it in the Spring would hurt.
