At the worst you can smear some fluorescent paint on some ordinary mice!!!. But...whether they would survive...I don't know.

Now, that is an interesting article Ziggy.
We don't really know how the human brain works but hypothesise that there must be neurological pathways to transmit information from one area of the brain to another, but no observable (to date) physical structures have been found.
This research would seem to show that these structures do exist.

Still only talking about mice at the moment but I think this finding has great implications for neorological phychology and our understanding of how the brain works.
    Thank you for the link.

Its quite a long answer to that question Marley.

With us gardeners, we know that we can't do a lot in the dark days of winter other than digging, tidying, planning for spring etc. So we accept this & quietly wash some pots out, turn the compost heap & have a chat with like minded souls such as your goodselves.

If you are an angler however, the winter nights are a time of exitement, planning sessions, preparing tackle, sorting the best baits, getting beach tents, winter clothing & night lights together in preparation for a full on night fishing session. Everything has to be right, its no good getting down to a raging wind swept beach & finding you've forgotten an essential that could ruin the session. Planning can take a week sometimes.

Now picture all that effort & then scupper the trip with 6 inches of snow.:dh:

Every year at this time on the fishing forums there will be loads of frustrated anglers, "all revved up & no place to go"

Its made worse by knowing there are Cod just off shore, big ones 15lb+, loads of them, and they will be gone by january.

On one fishing forum this has nearly lead to a full blown fight with personal insults flying.

But, on the forum I frequent (with more intelegent anglers than the first one) The frustration, this year, has lead to threads such as "Why are there no green mammals?" & then," why are there no green stars?"

I've been trying to work out the star one all afternoon & missed one obvious fact.

Without googling it, can we try to work that one out here, it was quite a fun challenge.:gnthb:

:D Jeesh you fishermen do get het up easily then by the sounds of it & here was I thinking you were all such patient fellows sitting or standing there for hours, waiting..!!!!!!!! :dh::D

Well, have never thought about it, but now you mention it I have never seen a green star so I would assume something to do with temperature & the speed of travel of the star or something.....

We are only the same as gardeners who have spent all week getting ready for the Melplash show, just as the thunderstorm comes.:D Just a different time of year. Just be greatfull that you're not a hybrid like me :lollol:.

Temperature has a lot to do with it, but its not the whole story.

Oh, we've got the patience, not uncommon to have a 6 to 12 hour session, but when the fish come its full on, adrenaline rush, total concentration hunter gatherer mode that takes over. Have even been known to hurl ourselves into the surf to secure that big fish that we've been playing.:yho:

A few years back, all ready to fish in the middle of winter, but the storms kept us off the beach.

And thought about the OP :flag:
Guess I was just taken on by what kind of breakthrough that would be in Neuropsychology - or I should just wake up :tnp:

Sorry Alice, didn't mean to side step you, just got thrown off laptop by little willow.

You are quite right, the pathways must exist, otherwise how does the forebrain instruct the hind brain into learning & how does the brain re wire itself after a stroke or head injury, interesting stuff.

Going off on a tangent again, as i tend to do on a saturday night, heres an example of frustrated anglers,

This is not the site I subscribe to BTW.
