This tree is growing down by the river bank at the bottom of our garden. Most of the trees down there are dead and due to be chopped down but we suddenly noticed this one in the middle of them had some lovely blooms on it. Any idea what it is?

    Looks like Viburnum sp.
Would like to see close up of the leaves.

Thanks Victoria. It's definitely deciduous as it was down on the 'cull' list as we thought it was dead. Good job the tree surgeon is a typically French workman and still hasn't turned up yet - only 6 weeks late so far. If it's safe enough to keep ie not trying to slide into the river, then it will be staying as I think it's lovely.

Thanks Silver surfer. I'll see if I can send OH in to get any closer and upload a better pic.
