    Hi,

Complete - and I mean complete! - newbie here [IMG]

I wonder whether anyone could give me some advice/opinions etc.

I got married in March last year and my intention as a wedding gift to my wife was to plant a tree to mark the day. Well, we're coming round to the 1 year anniversary [IMG] and I really should look at getting it organised.

I want a tree that I can plant shortly, that would suit a south-soutwesterly facing garden.

My absolute preference, however, is to have a tree that would blosom in March (blosom/flower/bloom - not sure what the correc term is!!).

Would anyone have any suggestions? All advice would be very much welcomed.

You could try looking at some of the cherries, they are known for their blossom and vary in size too. Does your other half have a liking for any thing in particular(plant/tree wise I mean)? :D

    Hi

    Thanks for the replies.

I think that we already have a magnolia tree in our garden. I'll have to check though.

Cherry Trees sound like a great idea. I think she'd love that too (again, plant related! ;) )

    Thanks again!

    Hi philjoel,
    PAROTTIA persica,
small red flowers in spring, and brilliant autumn colour, prefers full sun but will grow most places except deep shade.
