Our neighbour has a holly tree quite close to our boundary. It's not looking as leafy as I recall. Do holly trees have a 'scruffy' season or might something worse be wrong with it? I'm wondering if the dry/hot spell was not good for it - it's in full sun. It's been there a good few years. It seems to have leafier, happier looking shoots from nearer the base.
