It is a real worry - one thing is for sure, they are not going to go quietly.

Sadly, I think the can of worms does need to be opened - - we, globally, have shied away from doing so for far too long now.

Its yet another middle east problem that they themselves wont tackle.

Where are the Arab nations in all this, a lot of them have the money, our money, from buying their oil.

Then the west gets involved, it all goes wrong, and we end up in the dung heap.

Kinda inevitable following the most recent video.

How any of this can be justified in the name of religion - any religion - is utterly beyond me.

What on Earth justifies killing other people because they refuse to believe in your imaginary friend???????

No it isn't. It is US/UK/allies created problem. We created a power vacuum in a region of the world that is notorious for instability. The US wanted Iraq's oil infrastructure (all the contracts to look after the infrastructure went to US based companies - not my opinion or conspiracy, that info is in the public domain), so they toppled Saddam, who was a nasty piece of work but at least he held Iraq together. Then pushed some random bloke into power and trained some random skint locals to be soldiers and then effectively said "there you are, its yours now, bye".

If IS is not stopped now, we'll just have a much larger problem to deal with later. There are plenty who seem to hate us, and plenty who see us as weak, and plenty more who will hate us and see us as weak if we don't nip this in the bud now.

I agree up to a point clue, but what if Saddam was still around and he gassed this bunch of religious maniacs.
I'm sure there would be plenty out there condemning him.

The whole area is a minefield of different tribes wanting to run the place, none of which understand the ballot box.

We cant live without oil, sad but true, so looking after our interests is what we tend to do.
Stability in the middle east keeps the oil prices stable.

Unfortunately stability is getting more and more difficult to obtain.

I have no doubt there's be much public condemnation. There was when he did it back in the 1980s, and then that Syrian chap got all the condemnation when he did it more recently. But there's a massive difference between saying and doing. Western governments have a duty (if they want to keep winning votes) to huff and puff and such outrages, but then they can just leave it, by saying that they can't intervene without being invited, or without the backing of the UN or the Arab league or whatever they're called etc. Then something else would be in the news, then everyone would conveniently forget and move on.

I think its mainly about stopping the rot.
Best done in someone else's country rather than here.

Although if they let all that bunch that went out to join IS back into the UK, they have failed.
