Well I am really excited this year about growing veg in containers for the first time, I bought 8 packets today of veg and salad seeds, and went out tonight when i got home from work and planted some in containers, but waiting for my husband now to get me some tyres as I've run out of containers.

I forgot to get some labels for my veg/salad, but then i noticed the plastic handles that was on the plastic containers that i had bought last year which had, had flowers in was perfect, so i cut them into strips and wrote on them with the pen from my memo board.

I have some early rocket potatoes which i have put in the greenhouse to chit, eh don't i sound professonal! Thats all down to all the good advice i have from you all.

Bought some moneymaker tomatoes to grow in the very small greenhouse, then i will transfer them outside when weather of course is warmer.
Grew money maker years ago in a diy plastic greenhouse and they were lovely, i used to take my 2 year old daughter with me to pick the tomatoes which we had on a sandwich every day, lovely.

One thing i am happy about i know that if things go wrong I can come on this forum to get advice.
    Brilliant.
I have only grown brussels years ago and lettuce which bolted, so have to see what happens this year.

I want everything to be organic not a chemical in sight. I was told if i get horse manure and put it in a bucket with water that will make a good fertilizer. Can anyone tell me can you put that in after the seeds have been sown or does it go in before? [IMG]

I wish you all the luck with your vegetables, weekend gardener!
Pleased to know that your little one helps you picking the cherry tomatoes. We never arrived to that stage when my two daughters were that young: they would just pick all the green tomatoes before I could lay hand on them and step on it!
But i think that this summer they will respect the plant more!
