Don't know if this subject has been on GC before but sometimes
we come across a 'very useful item' and thought I would share this
trivia with you. And perhaps more can be added?

Needles that you don't need to thread the cotton through -
    called Magic Needles.

Anybody tried them and do they work ok?

I have and no! Sorry, but they hurt like blazes, and the thread keeps poping back out! Frustrating!

I got them for my son who has cerebral palsy, and a one-sided hemiplaegia, so is rather more one-handed than average - but I had to test them myself - no joy!

There is another device which worked better - if I find a pic I'll post it. But the simplest thing he found was the old fashioned needle-threader!

Thanks Dendrobium for reply - I won't buy any then!
Thought I had found something really useful.

pencil sharpener, the type with the rotating cylinder blade

electric knife (it does vibrate though)

crumb-sweeper (thats how I call it anyway): it is a flat plastic hand held object with some rotating brushes that can be used to fix "small mess" instead of using the vacuum cleaner.

We used to use those needles in surgery, jjordie (well, surgical versions, of course!!!). In fact I worked with one surgeon who wouldn't use anything else. But guess what - he was always moaning because they'd kept losing their thread!!
