    This one has been in the ground for about 7 years and as expected growing very slowly but it has just started to show flower sheathes, do they normally have flowers at this size? @pete

      Yes, its the length of stem that seems to determine flowering age, along with position.
      Anything with about 4ft of stem seems to start to flower.

      Male or Female?
