What am I?

    This plant has me puzzled, I had one in the garden about two years ago, it grew to about 4feet across and the single flower stem was about 6foot high. Can anyone identify for me please. plant 1.JPG plant 2.JPG

        Just a word of warning, once you've got them, you've got them! I made the mistake of letting them self seed and now can't get rid of them. Ok they are biennial but the seed seems to live for many years as when I dig a border over a few more seem to appear.

          I put a very similar pic. last year and got the same answer.
          It's spike this year is 6' high and pretty inpressive.
          Now I know I need to chop it down before the seeds drop - on my way NOW.
