Can anyone tell me what this plant is, have recently moved house and it is part of one of the very overgrown beds/hedge. Is currently in flower (July, Edinburgh) and has attractive grey peeling bark. IMAG0425 (1).jpg IMAG0425 (1).jpg Thanks!

Thanks SS, I even found the exact one, it's a hookeriana, very pretty indeed.

    Sorry Jayjay.
But I can tell you with 99% certainty it is not Deutzia hookeriana.
This sp has much smaller, cup shape, very dainty flowers.
It is a very compact shrub with smaller leaves.

I suspect your shrub is one of the tall vigorous sp. cultivar.
