    Hi

Just wondering if anyone can help me ID this shoot please?

I'm worried it might be Japanese knotweed.

    Thanks

Hello Carol, is it possible to take a picture from the front so that sun is shining onto it?

I see the similarity with knotweed, but it could also be a peony

The sun on it seems to show tiny hairs, which I don't think you see on knotweed

There seems to be an old woody stump nearby that it is sprouting from?
