    Just wondering if anyone can help me ID this shoot please?

    I'm worried it might be Japanese knotweed.

      The sun on it seems to show tiny hairs, which I don't think you see on knotweed

        Pic belows show Fallopia japonica...common name Japanese knotweed emerging.

          There seems to be an old woody stump nearby that it is sprouting from?

          Just one shoot, knotweed grows in clumps usually.
          Just a thought, you might need to wait a week or two for a definite Id.

            I must admit I took the photo last night as I was panicking after hearing that Japanese knotweed was spotted in our local park so wanted to post for advice asap.

            Unfortunately, it’s not that sharp the picture. I generally handle things like that with “I didn’t plant it, it comes out. “

            doubt its j knotweed, lots of bulbous plants it could be. wait till it has some leaves
