So, We have finally been told we can have the new house and will be moving in early June.
Due to my severe lack of knowledge I'll be asking beginners questions as time goes on.
As the property is rented I dont feel comfortable turning part of the lawn into a veg patch so I'm looking into growing a few bits in large pots/planters.

I'd like to grow some peas and sweetcorn against the fence on the left of pic, the fence faces north south so will get plenty of sun

The patio area I'd like to have some pots with tomatoes, peppers and maybe raspberries. I have no idea what is growing in the bed, maybe that could be replanted with some goodies.

This is the side of the house, I'd like to know what is planted there, I deally I'd like something that birds will like as there is a window that over looks that area and it'd be great so see the birds.
The current resident has a feeder there and she says it gets lots of visitors. I want to make it a bit more special for them

As always, I'd very much appreciate your thoughts and advice

The sunnier the better with Sweetcorn, so if you could bring it out from the fence a bit that'd help :)

Patio sounds good for the rest. You'll need some feed for growing in containers, you can either buy some or make your own by cramming weeds into a dustbin full of water (smells though)

Find your local bus garage and ask them if you can have their spent shampoo barrels - they are plastic nowadays, and can easily be cut in half and then washed out (they need a really thorough rinsing), before drilling drainage holes into them and then filling up for growing in. I use them for growing everything from carrots to parsnips to tatties and celariac etc. :blue thumb:
