    I've just returned from voting.

I wonder how many people bothered to vote!

My guess is that it may reach a massive 30% in our parish. :heehee:

If it does then it will be a bit more than normal.

What's your guess for your area? And let us know when the details are published.

If there is any change needed to the Voting system in this country (not saying there isn't or there is) my change would be to make voting compulsory.
Both my wife and I have voted in every election in which we have been entitled to vote. Mind I can also reveal that in nearly 50 years of voting I have never managed to vote for the winning candidate. Do I think my votes have been wasted? NO!

There was nearly one less at my Polling Station. I've been priming myself for the last 3 weeks, reminding myself to go and vote [as I always do]. Today I went to my sister's, dug over her garden as she's been asking me to for weeks, planted Runner Beans, Climbing Beans, Peas, Lupins, Dahlias, Asters, Rudbeckias, Delphiniums and the like, drove back home, and did a load of jobs for myself. Then I had some tea, settled down for the TV, thought I'd get onto Gardeners Corner, and saw this Thread - I'd forgotten all about voting!! Luckily for me, the Polling Station is only 400 yards away, so I was around in a flash.:what::DOH:

I took the approach that if they aint bothered, why should I:scratch::D

I mean, I know its council elections but we always get the same lot in every time, and even if we didn't, nothing would change.
They would still spend money on stupid things and cut back on the things that count.

As to the AV vote, well, we have been told by every politician apart from Cleggy to vote NO, every news paper said "vote NO", so I was only going to vote YES to be different.:D

Seems I've missed the boat now.
But anyway it means I dont have to run the gauntlet of the local kids.
The polling station is the youth club and they hang around the place like there aint no place else to go, so lets p*** all the voters off.
