About 11.45am this morning, the wind was howling - really howling and the squall commenced. I looked out of the window and saw these courageous little chaps. Bless their brave little hearts..
How on earth can they fly in a gale such as that - and cling on to the Niger seed feeder? It was swinging like a clock's pendulum,

They were probably singing a happy tune as well, Jenny. It's a harsh world out there for them and they need all the help they can get!!

A (fairly ) calm day so we had a walk along Studland beach and came cross some Black Necked Grebes a few yards off shore and a single Great Crested Grebe. All, naturally, in Winter plumage so not very colourful. Don't often see G C Grebes in the sea but a fish is a fish I suppose.

          A lovely calm sea - such a contrast with yesterday's - and tomorrow's I think,

All the usual suspects around Upton Country Park today plus a few Redwings up in the trees and Avocets out on the shoreline. Pics of a few locals.
