      Looks like a male Reed Bunting. They hang around on the ground under the feeders at my local reserve eating fallen seeds disturbed by tits , finches, etc.

          I haven't had Greenfinches in the garden for 5/6 years now and even then very rarely, you are lucky to have them @zenj particularly as the population has plummeted due to the Trichomonosis virus.

            I saw a jay in the garden this morning, pretty rare for round here.
            The blackbirds didn't seem impressed.
