What’s buzzing near me? A mosquito!
I forgot to put the oven on for the bread earlier, and remembered as I cleaned my teeth on the way to bed.... so I’m sitting in the lounge, waiting for the timer to count down, checking GC, with a mozzie feeling lucky!!

@Jenny namaste Some years ago we had a peacock settle in our garden and when it didn't go away we called the RSPCA. They had been looking for it for a few days so they came straight away and took it away. Apparently a Colonel owned quite a few of them and when he died most of them flew away! Ours was the last one to be found.

His pollen pouches were full but I couldn't tell if he had another wing!
              P1430944.JPG

We now have hundreds of butterflies in the garden (only a few last week). Lots of Peacocks and Red Admirals, a few Fritillaries and Tortoiseshells, a few small blue ones (they were around at least a month earlier than the others) and numerous whites.

I don't know the difference between the whites and they rarely keep still long enough to focus the camera on them.
Some have a black edging around the tips of the wings, others have a black spot a little way in from the tip and a few have orange tips.

Yes, I know the paving needs repointing :heehee: We'll do it after we've potted up the dozens of Verbena bonariensis that have seeded there. They sell very well :blue thumb:

Just had to escort a fledgling wren out of the lounge, as it had got a little lost...

No photos, as I needed to get it safe, whilst not alerting Izzy to its presence
