Safety in numbers as Kandy says. The Hobby is their only predator and in late Summer change from feeding on Dragonflies to young Swifts (Swallows and Martins) which may not be as fast or agile as the adults.

I found this Common Carder Bumblebee in my kitchen, exhausted and unable to fly after trying to find a way out. I offered a spoonful of sugar water, and it soon revived. Once it stopped feeding I placed it outside near a pot of flowers, and within minutes it was happily buzzing around feeding on the fuchsia flowers.

Lots of Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers coming through, though difficult to tell apart, unless you can see the different leg colour or wing length!
                        Chiffchaff.

One wasn't the same colour and turned out to be a Lesser Whitethroat.
