Walking past a house a saw this lovely flower, looks like a daffodil but even prettier!
Can you help me identify her and tell me a little more about her? And what about those little blue beauties?

    Thanks :)

    Extravaganza perhaps?

The dark blue flower on the right is Pansy

I forget the names of daffs all the time, I have just watched the very last one of the year go over :-( does anyone know the one that is almost like the one pictured above-except is is much creamier coloured-and it smells very exotic-almost jasmine-like and unbelievably strong, even for a daffodil?

Single centre? Pheasant-eye is very late flowering well into May, very fragrant and has the AGM

Are those three flowers off a single stem (I've got some like that), or are they three separate stems?

Off a single stem, some have as many as four or five flowers per stem.

The name Bridal crown rings a bell. But I did buy some Winston Churchill last year aswell. The scent of this particular flower is very overpowering, if (like me) you grow daffs to use as cut flowers then any more than two in an arrangement is too much.

Curse my silly irritating habit of not writing things down!!!!

I photograph label first then plant next, so I have consecutive images making the record (together an implied date). I find that more reliably than my scrappy notes :thumb:

If the scent is overpowering then I would say Bridal Crown first. To get an accurate ID you would have to consult a Daff expert:D Sir Winston Churchill is a nice smelly one but not as highly scented as Bridal Crown although other peeps might say different.:)

Kristen I have strated taking photos of my plants as well because I have loads of lost label plants and umpteen bits of paper with the names and prices scrawled on them:)

I will endeavour to be a good girl and do just that aswell.
I will actually work retrospectively from now-go back over all my pics and add the name.

Yes, I do that as well - rename the filename to append the plant name (and then delete the preceding picture of the label!)

Plus holding the label in-shot with camera set to Macro
