    Protea Tasman Ruby
    Protea cynaroides - 2 forms, one is "Little Prince" but tbh, the size of plant is about the same, so I don't know which it is!

      Hi @CarolineL like the Proteas, the first Cynaroides flower buds look the same as mine so guessing the second one the variety.

                After my depressing winter that killed off the "just about to flower" echiums, I haven't tried them since.

                  Years ahead of mine, last week was the nails in their coffin I think, although I dont try very hard with them anymore, since global warming became all the rage they dont survive winters here anymore.

                  Stevens last picture looks like a Brug to me, sanguinea maybe?

                    My Melianthus has pretty much had it for this year as well, frost below minus 4c seems to kill the top growth. DSC07346.JPG
