    could anyone tell me what this is called it is in my friends garden i said to her i would ask seems to think its some sort of small iris but we dont know the name of it thanks you

    Hi Rosa. 'Tis a Sisyrinchium striatum I believe.

    Blackthorn ive just called my friend and she asked to to tell you thanks ever so much, shes going to look it up in her garden book to see what family it is from she seems to think maybe iris family, she was ever so pleased you knew what it was

    Your friend is right, Rosa, they are indeed members of the Iridaceae ( Iris ) family.:gnthb:

    daitheplant my friend looked it up and your right its from the iris family so thats sorted that out thanks ever so much
