good call Woo , the blue one is called "Bluebird" , they can take hard pruning but you will have less flowers flowering for a year or two , I prune mine mid March before the sap rises as this is the last shrub to get leaves in my garden

          We crossed there Woo.....:)
Prune after flowering and remove the odd long branch barryman to keep it compact.
Take cuttings now ....non flowered shoots:)

I’m glad it’s not just me then! Every year I think I’ve lost it to the winter, then it starts to leaf up. (It’s about 2 weeks later than neighbours’ plants, just a street away - their garden has a wood shelter-belt)

eeessssyyy peessssy , you need a stem about 6 inches long cut just under a node (where the leaves sprout from ) remove all the leaves apart from the two at the top and place in a jam jar just with water 3/4 up the stem replace with fresh water once a week ... roots will apear and pot up when the roots turn from white to a darkish colour, , over winter put in a frost free greenhouse ... simples
