I have got to admit that I wouldn't like things hopping about in the greenhouse, but don't mind outside either. Got the odd frog, fine but snakes!!! oh ahhh, not in the same county as me marge! :D :D

I know, I know Nathan, adders are not far from us, but I have never seen one.

Coming back from feeding the dogs and shopping on Thursday we ran over a whopper of a snake, must have been four feet long ... it was dead as someone else had gone over it first! We had a largeish one living in our shed a couple of years ago and I would open the door and look around first. My cat was on the bench in the pergola attached to the shed, standing on his hind legs peering at something. I looked up just to see it slither through the eaves into the shed. Spotted it once or twice and then we forgot about it and haven't seen it since but we've named the shed Casa da Cobra! :D Had a baby one dancing around in front of the pergola once and t'other half hit it on the head with an empty gin bottle and couldn't understand why the little blighter hissed and jumped at him! :D :D :D The dead one the other day was the first I've seen in a year - and that one was a dead one, as well. Like the gecko, looks like the commoner Moorish and not the Turkish which is slimmer. If only we had more reptiles and amphibians in the uk(they would remove a lot more plant nibbling insects). Guess i'm in a minority here judging by the above posts.
