    I used to have this.

It leads to a funny story.

Our eldest granddaughter has been able to use a computer from a very early age (her dad being an IT contractor, gave her a laptop when she was three) and she has used mine when on a visit, so she was familiar with the painting.
At the age of five she was with her mother visiting a rather snooty neighbour. The woman had a coffee table book of the work of French impressionists. The child started to open the book and the woman rushed across to take it from her saying "It's not really a book for little girls" but the book fell open at the page which showed this, a cropped version of this painting as sometimes shown.

Rather than this with which she was familiar, from using my computer.

So the kid said: "Where's the little cat gone?"

My daughter said the woman's face nearly hit the floor with astonishment.

Of course, that was the extent my my granddaughter's knowledge of "fine art."

These days I have this, it's one of my favourite paintings..

    John Singer Sargent.
My icons fit neatly down the sides on a black background.

    Interesting subject DR :D

I had this pic of my son hang gliding in the French Alps for ages.
The plain blue round the edges was great for icons.

Then I found "Early Morning Mist In Indiana" and it has been my desk top pic ever since as it looks so cool
under those trees and of course the dark edges show the icons very nicely.
I won't show my actual desk top as I have at least 50 icons round the edges :D

Do you change your desk top frequently or keep the same one?
How many icons do you have? Show us your desk top pics folks.

    :)

I usually alternate beteween favourite photos.... This is what I have at the moment, a sunset I took from our verandah in Jamaica.... It just makes me feel warm inside & reminds me it is still waiting for me next time... Plus my icons go around the edge with no problem.... :gnthb:

We've got a boat on the Medway near Maidstone and three weeks ago I went to check that she was still okay. I couldn't even get on the pontoon because the river was so swollen but got some nice pictures, including this one which is the current desktop. (I went down there this week and the river is almost back to normal).

Here is mine which is a view of Mumbles Head - you can see the lighthouse and the pier including the lifeboat-house (just). I was born and brought up in Mumbles and saw this view practically every day. I only see it rarely now, and this was taken on a visit last summer.
