I'd been looking at some pics and it appeared identical. So if it's not Weston-Super-Mer, nor Kuala Lumpur, then Brisbane perhaps? (as it's in the same part of the World - possibly built by the same manufacturer).

You were almost there with KL but when you researched the pics (I'd be interested to know what you typed into your search engine ) you failed to see this note:-

"The next time you travel to Kuala Lumpur, don't expect to find the *********. The nearly 200-foot-tall ferris wheel is going on a sort of permanent vacation.
It's been decided that the wheel needs to be dismantled and transferred to elsewhere in Malaysia. The ride was constructed last year in conjuction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 event, but now its contract is up and it's got to go."

I counted the gondolas and put '42 gondola ferris wheel' into an image search, but unfortunately didn't pick up that it's been moved to Malacca.

Christchurch cathedral in New Zealand. As you say Shiney, it doesn't look quite so good now after being badly damaged in the recent earthquakes there.

Scrungee, although it is neither Senegal nor W-S-M I'm pleased that you noticed the main subject of the photo :heehee:. Their tourist office wasn't too impressed when I pointed it out to them :lunapic 130165696578242 5:. At least they had the town's coat of arms on it :)
