I have had this gentle soul in my garden for years. It rambles nicely and can root it elsewhere easily. It is about 4-5 inches tall, compact as it grows. Its white flowers have a small orange/red center, a delicate scent. But have not a clue where it came from, and don't recall buying it. And its starting its blooming now, and you can see soon will have a carpet of white from its ready buds. Anyone have a name for it?

Interesting would have not thought the phlox family, it is blooming the time the early Phlox bloom, hum.
I will google the name to see. But the flowers are three times larger than the typical ground phlox.
Ok, I googled it, it looks like it. Could be it.
I think what through me off was the flower size. All the other ground phlox I see in other peoples yard the flowers are so much smaller.
    Thanks for your input.

The leaves look wrong for any of the alpine type phlox to me, unless I am looking at the wrong leaves. Pp. subulata and douglassii forms have small, narrow leaves.
There are by the way dozens of different ones in every colour except yellows and oranges. Treat them like Aubrieta and trim back after flowering, then they often repeat flower later in the year. I think I have about 20 different ones in various parts of the garden.
