We are digging our new potatoes up and find quite a few of them are very green despite being several inches down. Has anybody else had this problem and is there anything we can do to prevent it.

We have rarely had this problem before, just the odd one that has been very near the surface.

    Thanks.

jjordie,we have Blight quite badly around here could it be that?..And since the flooding across our gardens the spuds being dug up are green and soft, did you get a lot of the wet stuff there?

Yes Pal, we had quite a lot of the wet stuff  but as we live near the top of a slight hill
we did not suffer as you did.
Spuds are not soft, but just dark green - could have been excess rain I suppose.

p.s. Are you getting dried out now?

Just checked re 'pikies' not usually called that round here Pal and thought you might possibly agree with
    this bit of a report that I found :D :D ...........

"The colourful itinerant travellersââ?¬â?or 'Pikies', as they are affectionately known to the localsââ?¬â?descended on the area like locusts, burgling garden sheds, laying dodgy tarmac drives and stripping motor vehicles bare, leaving the car parks as barren as the fields of Sodom and Gomorrah. During their month-long stay, the tree-hugging-heathens hope to set new world records for the fastest in-car-entertainment removal, the impregnation of the local wenches and the theft of anything that's not nailed downââ?¬â?or possibly stuff that is nailed down but will fit in the back of an untaxed Transit when nobody's looking."

Hmmmm! see what you mean
