How good/user friendly it is would seem to depend on how you use it.
Bilbo675 (in post #22 above) has said he knows 2 people who uninstalled it since it didn't recognise some of their software and hardware. I am wondering what these are.... [IMG]

I am in agreement with Gay Gardener (since I also have Windows 7) and will stay with it until 2020 when it is no longer running....the phrase, 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' springs to mind. [IMG]

I've not been given the option, so if its not free, I'll probably not buy it.
Never saw windows 7, just jumped from XP to 8.
I get the impression all this stuff is designed for touch screens.

I absolutely hate the touch screen on my phone, I mean what bit do you hold it by in order to not touch something you dont want to.

As for a touch screen on a pc, well, I'd hate to be making all those big hand movements all the time, whereas with a mouse its just a small movement followed by a click.

Unfortunately I probably won't have the choice to stay with Windows 7 as I'll be lucky if my present computer sees the year out. :doh:To avoid the combination of getting my head round Windows 10 and a new computer at the same time I'll install '10' in the next month or so. :)

Windows 8 was designed with touch screen in mind I believe, but Windows 10 is for all devices with or without touch screen.

Well, evidently not very progressive if it restricted certain software....I would call that regressive.

                  Well,
I pressed the download button and off it went...
it hogged the PC all afternoon and announced its arrival 3 hours later. It will take a while to get used to and I'll try not to "touch the screen " with sticky, greasy, jammy fingers...
It seems faster and I am VERY impressed by the quality of the pictures I took today. Sharper and more vibrant. Still got to work out how to reduce them to 800 x 600 as I seem to have lost "Paint " but I still have Dropbox which I like ,
                  Jenny

So far, so good then @Jenny namaste. :) Of course it all may be different now but I reduce pictures by right clicking on the picture and selecting 'edit' in the drop down box. I then go to Resize on the top left of the toolbar.

I'll try that and spend a little more time assessing what Windows 10 is trying to tell me tomorrow Sheal. I tend to take the bull in a china shop approach and am lazy at reading manuals,

Good evening @Jenny namaste if you type in "Paint" in the search box on your left hand side at the bottom of the screen ,a box will appear with the paint symbol at the top then just click on that:smile:
