I've been trying to find out where the heck the seed companies get these seeds! Everything I've read says your flower will not produce seeds. But if it doesn't make any, then where do the seed suppliers get them? Totally confused as I made the assumption from looking at the flower in the ad that it would produce seeds something like a sunflower. Does anyone have experience with this? I have one plant and another seedling that I managed to get from a packet of 5 seeds. And they were costly so I'd love to know how to collect them. Thank you Lori (she who buys stuff without reading all of the instructions...)
What are they Lori? F1 hybrid plants are often sterile and dont produce seeds. Because of that fact you mostly dont have to get involved with dead heading and the plants usually just keep on flowering. They are made by crossing two specific plants and usually hand pollenated , so are expensive, but often worth the extra.
Where did you get they don't produce seeds? Zulu Warrior Seeds | Purple Berkheya | Perennial flower Seeds
I bought mine through Davesgarden.com and looked at a couple other sites that said the same thing. Thank you @Victoria ! @pete the package didn't say anything about hybrids.
