Definitely a good option. They'll stack up nice and high and keep the moisture in but it won't get worms etc in I don't think. I'm just digging in my leaf mould pile from a couple of years ago before starting a new one. I have a spare wheelie bin too so might try it out

I don't think you can do much to stop the wood degrading, the fence paint is mainly a decorative product.Lining with polythene just traps moisture between the poly and the timber.I'd just be prepared to replace in a few years when it gets passed its use by date.

I've had the same problem. I think it's because, I might be wrong, sulphur isn't soluble, so it's very finely ground to get it through a sprayer.You have to keep shaking it all the time to keep it in suspension, but it still tends to clog. Keeping the pressure high also helps.
