If you're wanting more definite edges on an area, what you probably want is gravel boards instead. Similar idea, but thinner wood and a *lot* cheaper. Personally I prefer the edge of the turf as-is, but I've seen enough people who use gravel boards. You can also get plastic edging, usually...

I used acrylic paint on some terracotta pots, but because they are porous I gave them an initial coat with watered down pva glue.

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if I throw my soil that has gravel in it into a cement mixer will it make the soil a bit finer and easier to riddle? Doing it by hand I'm getting dry clumps of soil a bit bigger than the gravel making it harder to sort.

That's something I didn't think about, 4" plus mortar bed is a good height so maybe cut them in half and soldier them, extra work I know but then I can get that curve.

Not that size, but i have just built a new timber frame to fit an old plastic greenhouse cover that I had - the old metal & plastic frame broke when i tried to dismantle it when we moved last year. I'll try and get a photo to add on here.

When I laid the blocks I took away most of the mortar on each join allowing water to run into the soil, with all the rain we've had recently I've only had a couple of little puddles so I'm hoping that won't be a problem.
