I think chickens are likely to ruin grass in the winter. My grass is non existent in places where the dog runs, if it is wet and clayey and getting walked on all winter with even chicken pecking around I think you are lucky to still have some remnants.

The pulmonaria will self seed with luck. If you don't want it to just cut off the spent flowers and let the nice leaves come up. The only problem I have with them is they get mildew if its a dry summer.

You just cut back any stems you dont want, so if you just want one stem leave the strongest and remove the smaller ones.I've never found them easy to root from side shoots but they do grow sometimes, probably easier to just buy new plants if you want more.

In my previous garden a trellis to hide the back of the shed and bins. If far enough away you would still get the needed light.

If it is your fence you can tell them to take the lights off the fence and anything else they have attached to your fence on their side. It might start a fence war (I have experience off this) but you would be entitled to do this.
