Problems with Flea Beetles
Ben the only other thing I can suggest is to get some small hole nylon netting & nett off your veg plants so that at least the flying insects cannot get to them, rubbing off any eggs first.....

If it is leylandii it is not only dead but it looks as though you have a number of them there. Leylandii grow very fast (a metre a year) and very tall (30 metres). They can be kept looking good...

I've got them too. They won't damage your crop which doesn't come till next year but they make a mess of the plant. (I am assuming you mean purple sprouting broccolli?)
