This is the benefit of gardening forums such as Gardeners Corner. OK, yes usually the seed packet carries some instructions for sowing. These instructions are usually based upon experience gained through the various trial stages. The forum comments help fill in what hasn't been written and...

I did once before, and they seemed to do ok. I don't have anywhere that's sheltered enough to put them in the ground so this seems like the best option for this year. I'm sure yours will look lovely wherever you decide to put them !

Turns out there was a nice new clump of fresh growth as well as an old stalky bit (still with some new shoots) so has turned out ok! Just hoping the three cuttings from last year do ok now theyre in the garden-they had a good root ball on them so fingers crossed
