No experience with Nigeria Victor, but I should imagine spinach would romp away as soon as temps pick up.

If you're in the UK, it's too cold at the moment for chillis and toms to be outside as night time temps will fall even though it seems nice and warm in your mini greenhouse during sunny days. You could get a max min thermometer and put it in your mini greenhouse to check. As has already been...

That sounds so easy just to put it straight in the ground, I've always taken about a six inch cutting and treated like a baby in the greenhouse, I'll try your method next time. It's so helpful what we find on GC.

I just did this with laurel. A lot cruder though!! Trimmed a hedge and cut some of the clippings above leaf joint took some of the leaves off. Stuck 100 of them in the ground fingers crossed a few will grow. If not..... Oh well..... No harm. will do the same in Autumn when I trim it again...

Turns out there was a nice new clump of fresh growth as well as an old stalky bit (still with some new shoots) so has turned out ok! Just hoping the three cuttings from last year do ok now theyre in the garden-they had a good root ball on them so fingers crossed
