Oohh hello, I'm the first one here :)

I've just got a new I. Sibirica called " Roaring Jelly " which is supposed to change colour from pink to purple.

I've also just bought Sparaxis, Homeria and Ixia corms and I'm pleasantly surprised to learn that these are all part of the Iris family.

    :) :) :) :)

I like the look of 'Roaring Jelly' Anthony :) but the web has it down as anything from pale pink to bright blue.

        Hi Sheal,

I've just had a look on Google and I think that except for the blues the colours are about right.
It's supposed to change colour completely through the ranges of pink/purple.

I've got one, just one. I bought it at @shiney land last year and I can't wait to see it bloom this year. Without running downstairs and outside to read the label it is a bronze one but I have no idea which variety it is.

@"M" not sure the label will tell you the variety. Our irises have been in the garden for at least 35 years.

They originated from a local expert on irises whose garden was full of them (her name was Iris).

When she (EDIT) was dying she said that she wanted us to take a lot of them to our garden where she would be sure they would have a good home. Other gardening friends had some as well.

Mrs Shiney may have the names or just labelled them by colour. Yours will be one of the offspring of them. :blue thumb: (Could even be an original.)

The label states: Gold and bronze :blue thumb: I knew it didn't have the variety on it but I couldn't recall the other colour :heehee: Very interesting to know is origins though, thank you :)

                          Iris confusa "Martyn Rix"...............

It has an unusual growth habit for an Iris with the fans growing on top of canes...............

It also occurred to me that the last photo that I posted of I.japonica is showing some variation as there are less blue marking in it. This is the more usual form which opened yesterday.............
