I just love this garden. Here are a few pictures taken today. First showing a general view. The Allium Christophii is just starting and a white Cistus has been flowering for a week or so.

The next picture is the same from a different side and the poppies are just starting too.

And this one shows another Cistus and those funny tall things, which used to be an allium is now called Nectaroscordium Siculum. It is a bit of a curiosity; I hope it gets prettier and the seathrift is still going strong.

It's wonderful, Redwing. Could I suggest another lovely plant for well-drained soil? Dictamnus albus comes in two colours..purpley-pink or white. It flowers later in the summer, which could be useful. Here's a pic.. dictamnus albus.png

Thanks for the suggestion Noisette. I'll look up dictamnus albus. It is not a plant I am familiar with.

Mrs @shiney introduced them to me as "Honey Bells" and, in time, you will see that they become even more "curious" because those flowers/bells will turn upside down on themselves :heehee: Great for flower arrangements

Yes, they're quite pretty in flower and then when they start to set seed the pods clump together in a cone shape with the point at the top. Brilliant for flower arrangements but they seed very easily. So if you don't want any more you need to cut them back when the sets set.

I am finding that several things from last year are readily seeding themselves in this dry sandy soil, Shiney. Allium christophii by the hundreds, which I am mostly hoeing out and the other one is sea holly, eryngiums, which I gather is hard to grow for some people, but it likes these conditions. If anyone wants some seedlings, pm me and I will send you some for the cost of the postage.

This hot weather is really bringing out the flowers this week in my Med garden. Allium christophii beginning to look wonderful.

                        Thanks M.

No, the plant on the right against the wall is a Clematis montana, "rubens", I think. It's kind of pinky and smells wonderful. Also against the wall is a Honeysuckle and a Dorothy Perkins rose and they will flower in due course.

I was so happy yesterday when my husband gave me the best compliment he's ever given me. He said my Med garden is nice enough to be on Gardeners' World!
