    Good day everyone,
There are a few bands of pink clouds out there but still bitterly cold. I keep looking at the weather forecast and hoping it will suddenly change to predicting balmy weather. Ever the optimist...

Going to bake some hot cross buns this morning and finish hoovering the main floor. I do have a roomba but I still need to use the central vacuum system to do a more thorough job every couple of weeks. ;)

Then mid afternoon, we're off to the pub for our usual hour on a Sunday. Lots of good friends and fun.

Have a safe day everyone :)

Top of the morning everyone I have another busy day,I won't bore you with the details,(Oh yes I will):heehee:but it does involve pruning all the Roses down at the local surgery, new fish tank to prepare, bark chippings to spread, raised beds to dig over and fertilise ,potting up in the greenhouse, food shopping and meals to prepare, popping out to see how the lambing is doing, and that's before lunch:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Have a lovely day and keep smiling my friends:smile:

        Aloha everyone,

I didn't get around to posting on here yesterday as I got too busy.

Apart from catering for the students there was a lot of admin to do (still got lots) but we also got a very annoying email. With our Open Garden, all the behind the scenes organising has been done. The 20 helpers found and organised for the two days with their jobs allocated, all the entertainers organised and given their time slots, the publicity organised and all the posters printed - and then an email comes in that says the Community Choir won't be able to make it!!! They had the biggest time slot on the programme and we now need to fill it and then redo the publicity

What makes it more difficult is that it's Bank Holiday so a lot entertainers may be busy. A singer we know is on holiday at the moment so we have been shopping around a bit. Last year we met a fantastic Barbershop Troup (about fifteen of them) singing at an RHS garden and we mentioned our Open Day and asked if they would be willing to help for charity. They said that if they were free they would do it for travelling expenses. Unfortunately, when I contacted them yesterday they said it's the date of the National Competition and they're shortlisted. They gave us a couple of links to some associations of female Barbershop singers and we've sent emails out to them but few are close enough to make it possible. We're now awaiting responses before working on Plan Z. :phew:

Once it has warmed up a bit outside I want to get out there and do some lawn edging. I don't find doing the edging too much problem but bending down to pick up all the cuttings, and doing the weeding in the edges, gets too much for me. :old:. I'll see whether I can negotiate trading part of my work for part of Mrs Shiney's work. If she gets the pots of plants that need potting on, and gives me the right size pots to put them into, then I can do that. It's a job that she finds a bore - but not quite as boring as filling pots ready for planting bulbs and cuttings. So I can do that as well. :dbgrtmb:

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

            Good day everyone
Being on daylight saving, I am back to sitting in the dark for this early part of the morning. We're expecting more days of sub zero temperatures so I am attempting to set up all of my travelling/errand running during this weather so as not to waste any of the good days following.

Please stay safe and warm too!

                Morning early people :)

Blimey Shiney, that's a bother. Maybe we can get Armandii to fill the slot with his jelly juggling and origami act?

Cloudy here today, but I can see a bit of blue sky :fingers crossed:

Have a good day everyone :spinning:

                  Good morning fellow WW'ers

Not a bad morning out there this morning, only a quick morning walk but it was bright (if not sunny) and it does look promising :fingers crossed:

@shiney - I have every confidence that it will all work out for the Garden Weekend :grphg:
Bit of a rude way to describe his dancing, but, hey ho :heehee:

I bought some frozen lamb chump chops recently but there are not particularly good grilled; so, the remainder I put in the slow cooker yesterday, then left to cool overnight so any fat formed can be scraped off today. Then I can freeze it up in portions for a "ready meal" when time is short between the household varying shift patterns.

Still haven't found the seeds I've misplaced and I've looked *everywhere*! (Actually, I can still hear my big brother's voice from years ago stating: "No, you haven't looked everywhere because you haven't looked where they are!") :heehee: Think I'll give up on looking and buy some more - you watch, once I've bought some more, they *will* turn up :rolleyespink:

Miles of smiles and healing vibes for all in need of them xxMxx

                      Aloha everyone,

@wiseowl the Shiney's are raring to go :dbgrtmb: but I'm not sure if my body is. :snork: I overdid the bending yesterday  but we got loads done. :)

We had a lovely sunny walk in the forest in the morning and met more dogs than people. :doggieshmooze: We must have met at least 30 dogs and all of them were well behaved and friendly. At the outdoor café in the forest there were a group of eight people and ten dogs all sitting around a table. The ten dogs looked as though they represented about 30 breeds :snorky: We were introduced to Minnie who is a Saluki/Greyhound cross and she was beautiful. She's one of the long haired Saluki breeds and her eyelashes are 3" long (to keep the desert sand out of her eyes).

The afternoon was taken up with edging and potting on and I did too much bending down and putting pots in the nursery areas. :nonofinger:  I'll continue with the work but cut out the bending. :ideaIPB:

That's not always true. With Mrs S. they can easily be where she's looked but not looked properly. If you think that they couldn't possibly be somewhere in particular then you don't look in that place properly. Hidden in plain sight - very philosophical :snork:

We're still working on entertainers :wallbanging: but we'll fill the time slot somehow :blue thumb:

I made a very good Naga lamb curry last night and Mrs S. made a veggie Jalfrezi. Yum Yum.

                      Whoops - word association :ideaIPB:.
The three little maids:- Yum Yum (our curries), Peep-Bo (looking for @"M" 's seeds), Pitti Sing (trying to find singers).

                      A slightly different version :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

We all sound cheerful today and it is nice to feel the smiles :)

It is still snowing here and bitterly cold as well. I took a pic of my greenhouse last night which took several tries and I still ended up with what looks like a grainy picture however the constantly falling snow must have been interfering with my automatic focussing for dummies on the camera  Then I spent some more time figuring out how to upload :doh:but now I know not to try to add a title by comment, I must title the picture or thread.:)

I'm going to read the news then perhaps go out and shovel a path to the greenhouses and the bird feeder. "snow dig"

Have a safe and warm day please!

                                Aloha everyone,

The sun has burnt off the early morning mist and it's going to be a lovely day.

@wiseowl bet you don't manage it! :snork:

@Zigs sorry about your car  As you need a new cat, should I send Sarafi down there? :snorky:

@moyra I'm OK. Mrs Shiney made sure I stopped when she saw that I couldn't stand up after weeding :old: :heehee: I'm going to make the most of today's lovely weather to continue with the lawn edges. The soil is in perfect condition for doing that. I'll limit myself to 100ft - I think. ;)

@CanadianLori Are you building an igloo? :grphg:

Keep well and have a great day

                                Aloha!
