    Aloha everyone,

Another busy week this week. :phew: Apart from the usual frantic things to be done during the week we have Mrs Shiney's brother staying with us (lives in Brazil).

Sadly, we've also had two more people (one friend, one relative) pop their clogs this week

It seems as though it may be getting dangerous to know me! :hate-shocked:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

            Good day
It is still pitch here so I have no idea what the skies hold. Hoping it's a few clouds that drop rain on us.

Just unmoulded some jellies - lovely how they're coming out. Now only need to roll them in sugar and package them to complete the job. :)

I've got lots of work to get done today and I need to get business finished quickly so that I have time to play some more before supper.

            Have a super day :)

                    Aloha everyone,

The wind is picking up but the sun is coming out :) Lots of bees on the Verbena B. :blue thumb: The strong wind doesn't seem to affect their ability to buzz straight off to the next flower.

Mrs Shiney's brother, who now lives in Brazil, is visiting. I've had to get a form signed for him to tell the DWP that he's still alive so that he can continue to receive his pension. :snorky:

I've been in touch with the county disability dept. and they are now going to visit Barry to see about putting a wet room in. It has only taken a month to get to this stage, so not too bad.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!

                          Morning early people :)

Went back to work a bit too early after being ill so taking the day off.

Weather not that nice here anyway.

Got lots on next week so need to be up to it.

                              Good day everyone
@Zigs I didn't listen to your caution yesterday and mashed one of my fingers between the table opening and the machine head whilst trying to dismantle the unit. I couldn't fix the machine so now have to get rid of it - the head alone weighs over 75 lbs. ouch... Finger has turned a nice shade of purple though :)

@shiney please do tell, what it a wet room? I need to know the reason to be happy for Barry

We got a few lovely downpours yesterday and today I am looking at blue skies. I'm hoping I can get this machine out of here quickly so that later on I can enjoy the outdoors. As I mentioned the head weighs 75 lbs and I am going to slide it down the stairs in a plastic bind, then slide it onto a dolly to take out to the street. I have just removed the motor (another 40+ lbs) and electric controls from the table and plan on sliding the table down the stairs too as it is also fairly heavy - about 35-40lbs. I love working up on the second floor where I can see out the windows but this type of situation underlines the drawbacks of this set up.

I need to get lots of other things done as well so I best get at it. I hope I don't lose control of the machine head as it would either punch a hole through me or the wall if that happens...:yikes:

Enjoy your day everyone and play safe :)

@CanadianLori Barry is partially disabled and, at present, has a special bath with low sides so that he can get in and out of it easier. Unfortunately he can no longer steady himself sufficiently so that he can lift a leg high enough without being in danger of falling over. So a shower is needed. All normal showers have lips or steps to get in so he needs to have one without any form of barrier at all. So he needs a walk-in shower that has no lips and is, essentially, part of the bathroom floor with a drain made in the floor. Over here this is called a wet room. There is a glass/plastic wall to stop the water pouring everywhere and he just has to walk round the wall. A seat is usually an integral part of the shower in these cases.

                                This is one type

His room is smaller and they are more likely to have the walls of plastic and not posh tiles.

Re getting your machine etc. out of the house. Can't you stop some nice hefty man in the street and ask him to do it for you?
