      Goooooooood morning fellow WW'ers :spinning:

I've now completed my first week in the new job  Looking forward to returning on Monday (are we allowed to say that in regard to work? :dunno: ) :heehee:
You too, woo - hope you are on the up healthwise and life is treating you kindly.
Good to see your post, Toppers  Hope you enjoy the tea, music and manage to catch up on that much needed rest!
Do enjoy! :Wino: Curious mind wishes to know ... what do you do when thin Paul visits and does that differ when plain old Paul visits? :dunno: :heehee:

Wishing you all a weekend filled with all the things which brings you peace and joy. Except ... its fireworks weekend so the peace might prove elusive? :dunno:

      Smiles and vibes

        Good day everyone
Our last day this year of being only 4 hours apart. Tonight we change our clocks back to standard time Greenwich -5 hours.

I'm helping number 1 son this morning with car repairs and then this afternoon taking some lawn furniture to my sister and after that, she and I will be going to a home show for which I have free tickets. :) Probably rinky dink show but it's something to amuse us for awhile.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Saturday :)

            Goooooooood morning fellow WW'ers :spinning:

Didn't need to wait for the sun to rise for Ozzy's walk this morning, the Beaver Moon was shining so brightly ... at one point I was tempted to put my sunglasses on! :heehee: Ozzy was ok about going out (he loves the cooler weather :doggieshmooze: ) but he's on antibiotics at the moment and feeling a little sorry for himself. His luck is in later today though ... for the second Sunday running all the household are home for dinner  This week, we're having roast pork and this week, I've promised him a little slice (no more! It's not his birthday this week :nonofinger: :heehee: ) the menfolk may share the rest :Wino:

The weather looks promising for the day so, aside from laundry, line drying, roast cooking and some housework for neatness sake :Hwife: I'll be humming: "Hi Hoe, Hi Hoe, it's weeding out I'll go ... " [IMG] and I really need to bag up the last of the leaves down the gully :raking:

Have a super Sunday with miles of smiles and positive vibes

                Good day everyone
We are back to standard time and it is 6:32 here.
I soaked the currants, raisins, peel, etc in brandy overnight and all is ready to start my Christmas cakes. I need to get them mixed and in the oven before my show comes on.

@"M" I too am cooking a roast today. Roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding etc. So I will have all of the above prep done before going to the pub for an hour this afternoon. I also must do some tidying and that will happen while my show airs. :)

Have a lovely day all and play safe :)

Did you know, traditionally, Christmas cakes were made at Easter? True! Hence the alcohol content in the cake to preserve it until it was eaten. The reason for making them at Easter was because that was when eggs were plentiful ;) By this time of the year, hens would be going off lay and eggs were more scarce (unless the canny housewife had preserved some).

I'm cooking today too. My stepdaughter has invited herself and her 3 children round for tea. My wife was due to work til 3 today so I volunteered to cook.

I don't mind cooking when there's enough people to make a batch. It gives me the chance to be creative.

I did most of the hard work yesterday. I slow cooked a pack of chicken in the crockpot. I ground up a mixture of breadcrumbs and chorizo. I pre-boiled and seasoned the potatoes. I made jelly for the trifle.

This morning I covered the chicken with a layer of cheese and a layer of breadcrumbs. All I have to do now is put it in the oven. The children are really picky (as was I at that age) so they might not appreciate it. :love30: That doesn't stop me trying though

This morning I also added a layer of custard to my trifle. When I get around to it I'll add the topping and cover it with sprinkles. I've never attempted trifle before so I don't know how it will turn out.

                    :fingers crossed:

Sun shining today. I picked up the dog poo and cleaned out the drains. I thought I would share that information with everyone. Yes, I washed my hands before I did any food preparation. :rasp:

                    :Wino:

@"M" :ThankYou: Often wondered about it's origins. They are all baked and now tightly wrapped in aluminium foil. I made two medium round ones, 5 little round ones and 5 little rectangular ones. Will let them sit for a week or so and then start feeding them. Probably should have done these a few weeks ago but... well, I don't have an excuse

                            Aloha everyone,

As you can see, I'm back from my three day tournament. Hotel and food were excellent, as was the company. So a very good three days. Our bridge wasn't quite up to the standard of everything else  It started off well on Friday where, after 7.5 hours of playing we did quite well and ended up in A flight final. All that playing was to earn a place in either the A flight final (like the Premier League), B Flight Final (2nd division) or the consolation tournament (local leagues - about 65% of the players).

It's always a feather in the cap to get into the A flight but we played there all day Saturday and didn't do very well. Sunday was also all day, in a different type of event, and we only managed to come about half way :noidea: - but a great time was had by all.

Whilst I was away Mrs Shiney got lots done in the garden. :dbgrtmb:

A frosty morning today but the sun is trying to come through the haze.

Keep well and have a great day

                            Aloha!

Frosty this morning. The cars were frozen solid. As usual I forgot it was frosty and didn't allow time to defrost the car. At least my wife will have a warm frost free car to take the children to school. She's so lucky having me.

                              Have a good day everyone.
