Hi All. Got our 25th wedding anniversary coming up in August and wifey asked what do I want? I suggested a villa in Skiathos or/and a yacht but for a reply I got the finger:cry3:

After various other suggestions and fingers I have come down to a large vitopod for seed growing. I do have heated propagators with only one which is controllable so in theory I do not need a vitopod but then again I am not paying for it:yes: I think the biggest problem I have and normally get is leggy seedlings (all flower no veg). The propagators are i garage and they are next to a window which faces north so does not get enough light hence they get leggy despite me turning them every couple of days.
Again I could ask for just lighting but not paying:) I could at a push put the propagators in the greenhouse but even in April still sometimes does not have enough light.

I see vitopod do a lighting kit which in theory seems ok for plants but no good for seeds as the lighting needs to be close to seeds. Mind you on a single tier the lights just may be close enough. I think I would prefer to have separate lighting say from maxibright or similar.I think led tubes as far as cost is concerned would be better but read that the normal T5 tubes beat led hands down. That is of course the normal white tubes at 6500k not sure about the blue led lights. I know scrungee is testing some led tubes so interesting to see how they get on.
Of course I could say "I do not need anything as I got you" but she would not believe that and I would get the finger again.

Congratulations in due course. What are you getting wifey?

I like the villa or yacht option myself. For our 20th I got an apartment in Portugal. It's our 50th on Sunday and we are having a Chinese crispy Peking duck meal by the sea.

I admit I don't really understand human relationships, but isn't the important part
so shouldn't you be looking for something you both want and would enjoy.

Hi Nigel. Since this is my 1st 25th Wedding anniversary I am no expert!!! I think it all depends on the couple what they want, some may want the once in a lifetime holiday somewhere and that would be their presie. Whatever you give your partner it is a thank you for the 25 years of being together, from what I read a big feat in today`s society. 25 years is silver and it used to be that you would buy something for each other in silver. Some still do but times have changed as it has for everything even gardening, compost for example:frown:

If you read on the web some have been over the moon for getting 4 new tyres for their car!!! My other half when I asked what she wanted replied a new cooker!! so a new cooker she will get.
We will be going away to a "posh" hotel by the sea for our anniversary day with flowers & chocolates ordered for the room.Nice meal probably Indian and something personal as a presie again no doubt a genuine piece of art deco silver or similar.
So the answer in my case is no it is not something we both want & will both enjoy but something we individually want and to enjoy.
As I said everyone is different and things have changed.Looks like gardening is off as raining hard at the moment so it could be tidy up of the shed (again)
