    Hi All,

New to the forum so here’s my first post.

Does anyone know what plant this is and the best way to get rid of it?
It’s taking over my garden pretty quickly and has quite a strong smell.

Welcome to the forum @Mr B. That looks like Houttuynia cordata. Nice if you have the variegated variety and keep it contained - it is good in a pond, but a thug if let loose..

I think glysophate is the best way to deal with it.

      Hiya Mr.B....
      Welcome to the forum :)
      Yes, get rid asap.
      It IS a thug.
Goyphosate every piece you see. If you attempt to dig out large clumps the roots will break and every bit will make a new thuggish plant.
The variegated variety is equally as bad but often turned a blind eye to because it is so attractive:sad:

I used to have the variegated version scattered about the garden. Hated the smell. Just kept digging it out every time it appeared somewhere and after about three summers it was eradicated.
