Despite saying I would not do more mulching today, I have done just that because the weather has changed, it is now beautifully warm and sunny :SUNsmile:A good small trailor load has helped me finish the basic mulching. I will continue to get more though....to use later for the gh, for adding between veg rows and for spring planting :)

I get the trashing of the cage as stress and frustration at being confined against their will. Leaving poo outside the feeding stations and the hog houses is done to tell other hogs that " I am here ". Possibly with the bowls they are sending the same message but their aim is off a bit :loll:or maybe it's to discourage other hogs from eating the food :dunno: . No idea about Foxes, I'm afraid.

Today's gardening efforts was limited to cutting up cherry tree prunings from last year to add to another wood pile. I did have a wander around and have a good look at everything. There's a lot to do . Lots of very large molehills all over back and front gardens ..... I wonder if I have a mutant Mole :loll:. The pond needs a good clean out but I'm a bit wary as every time I take out blanket weed I take beetles, snails and larvae with it. No idea what the larva is. Weather supposed to be nice again tomorrow so may get time to do something outside.

I went to the hardware store this morning to buy some things I use for making the coasters and I walked right past the stands outside filled with spring flowers :hate-shocked:. Most unlike me to do that :heehee:

Just cut down a bamboo, prior to removing roots. Going to thin out Phyllostachys nigra.

I went to Wyevale for lunch and a look around. Did notice, as usual some rather leggy/floppy Tomato plants..........who buys these?

Weather today has not been as nice as I was hoping for. Should have gone outside this morning but was busy. This afternoon was cold and overcast but I decided to cut grass on bank out front and start a new compost heap. Got strimmers out of shed, put on hat and two fleeces and then :rain:. Carried on anyway and cut grass on the bank. Had a look into pond and pulled out lots of blanket weed. :rain: got heavier and wind picked up. At which point I decided I'd had enough of gardening. Compost heap will have to wait.

Whilst outside I saw something rather distressing . Last year's Gull chick has broken a leg. It's snapped in half and the bone is protruding outwards . He/she was okay yesterday. I can't get close enough to try and catch it. Poor little bean :cry3:

Apart from acquiring a couple of double Primulas for the wife from our local G/Centre , there wasn't much I could do today on my day off ; ground frozen solid all day and borders covered in hard frost !
Have had to keep TeeLights going constantly in special cloches inside my 10x8 purely to keep frost away from my cherished cacti !

Looking at things and thinking balls to it.. went up the allotment and thought the same. Mae hi'n bwrw glaw :hmmm2: I have brought in pots to wash so I can get cracking on sowing, I'm "behind" on peppers, onions, leeks and sweetpeas.

Had an enjoyable day in the greenhouse. Went to ikea yesterday and bought some practical storage for in there...mesh drawers etc that fit nicely under the work surface. Also a tub with a lid that can be stacked and partially opened...so have got my mixture of vermiculite and seed sowing compost in it that I can easily scoop out of.

Today I've used my yoghurt pots and dog dinner trays to sow more sweet peas, dahlia (bishops children), mina lobata (spanish flag?), and something else that Ive never grown before and now can't remember the name of ha ha.
