There is room, surprisingly, for him. However, the beach and the Towans are just a minute or two away and that’s what he really likes

Just taken advantage of the extra daylight to trim honeysuckles around the arch as well as a large eunonymous japonicus. It should be mild again overnight tonight

 

Ah yes those lovely beaches you recommended. Our woofers loved them. We were trying to remember the name of that fantastic dog friendly pub you recommended to us....they did AMAZING mussles. We might come back down to St Ives again this year. We really really enjoyed it with the dogs.

 

Bought some more compost this morning, fortunately the little DIY/Hardware shop in our village is always open Sunday mornings, it's always busy for them.

No unoccupied shops in our village, cos you can always find somewhere to park!

Sorted out the end of the rockery to the right of the lamp next to our pool waterfall, re-arranged the rocks a bit, to make it look less like a dogs "cemetery" made sure the two low voltage cables that feed the lamp and the spotlight above the waterfall in their trunking were well below the rocks.

Ordered some more flox from T&M, it'll brighten up this area.

 

You've been busy @shiney Hope you're not over doing it! What cut flowers is mrs shiney planning on growing? I trialled a few allotment beds for cut flowers last year and it was lovely being able to just cut and bring nice fresh flowers in the house

 

Planted out 8 Lupins which were a free gift from Parkers. Also some N. Rip von Winkle and Tulip Black Parrot off the market.

Mainly sweeping and emptying spent pots today.
My laziness over the winter has provided me with lots of stock seeds though
I found it really satisfying popping them all open. They are giant perfection mix. They where amazing last year. Even if they don't come true, they're free

 

Rain and strong winds yesterday morning, so worked on a canvas and made some more large coasters using a new pouring method.

Sunny by mid day although still very windy and cold. Planted two Scabious in the pot with rat burial, one blue, one white. Planted a white Buddleja in the bed where the Heleniums were. I bought the Buddleja last year and it's been growing on in a pot. I'm hoping it might flower this year. Still got lots of pots and running out of spaces to replant the contents. Considering making another raised bed somewhere.

Walked past veg patch to open gh door and had to admire the fine, raked level compost there! Perfect now for seed sowing soon
No work in the garden today though but perfect weather for beach walk with Nico

 

Disappointingly drizzly and chilly here today. Might go in the greenhouse and sow some pepper and tomato seeds. And if it warms up i’ll plant my two roses in the raised beds. Might also treat the pots with vine weevil killer. I was going to jet washer the garden walls before putting in the new hedges but that can wait til tomorrow as its forecast to be a bit nicer.

 

The results of my work yesterday. Hard to believe a 60ltr bag of compost was used up here.
Ordered 10 post-plugs of flox from T&M, but they won't be here until the end of March.
Should be enough to make this area presentable.



The flox is the same as that which I bought last year for the rockery, some of which is in the foreground, Good colours and spreads well.







The mimosa in a big tub on the patio is in full bloom. It takes long enough for this one to flower.
