White Bleeding Heart

I wonder Woo. How small were those plants when you planted them? Did you water them heavily? A combination of the 2 would be a hardship for them. A third point, were those plants growing outside when you purchased them?
I think with the imminent warmer weather they will improve though

 

got me a lovely white one couple years ago, its leaves are lime green, outstanding beautiful.

 

Hi Woo, I have a young white bleeding heart that has suffered really badly in the recent cold nights and winds. I wonder if the foliage is slightly more delicate than that of the standard red ones?

 

Agree but the white spectabilis is a beauty and well worth growing. Grow it with an astilbe with copper new foliage or with Cappuccino or Shogun for amazing contrast

 

Nice Woo. Just remember though, it won’t like being planted, repotted, replanted etc. Dicentra S. is a toughie esp with imminent increasingly warm weather. If worried you could have simply cloched or fleeced it Plants will adjust and settle .

 

moved the one I have last year to another spot, and checked it this week, coming up nicely.

Hi @wiseowl , I wonder just looking at your first photo if it's in too bright a position . I grow them under a conifer against a wall in shade and they do really well.

Just starting to flower......
