We've ordered on-line an Acer Palmatum Taylor.
We got an e-mail a couple of days ago to say it would be delivered today.
Checking the tracking number on Yodel, I see that the driver has 132 deliveries to make today.
    He's completed 40.
There's 19 more to be delivered before he delivers ours.
    It's 2.45pm already.
He won't even be half-way through his schedule by the time he delivers ours.

Half the parcels may go back at the end of the day
Now you can see why they rush around  like some do, when we have a delivery i am always out side waiting for them to arive so that they only spend a minute or two here, if you help them sometimes they help you

As a ex lorry driver(artic's) i know what goes on so i'm allways there to help them to make it as easy as pos

Even just having one drop to do on monday morning can lead to problems, that load i started with on monday i still had the same load in the trailor on friday night, Saturday i got it tipped, :) i was very happy, but i had to tip that load at the place i picked it up from :heehee: i took it for a long ride all round the uk :coffee:

We have had delivery drivers waiting outside the house, as they cannot deliver the parcel before the allocated window time. And the 130 deliveries they do a day is mind boggling.

The Yodel tracking site, actually provides a map and shows you exactly where the van is at the moment.
            Two to go before us.

White Van Man arrived at 6.00 p.m.

            Hardly worth waiting for.

This is what he brought us for £24.99 and £6.99 postage.

It's rather droopy, has a few small dead branches and the cane was just stuck in the pot providing no support at all.

I've e-mailed "YouGarden.com" attaching these photos and expressed my disatisfaction.

I would hate to be a delivery driver, I know my local DPD drivers and they are great but they expect them to deliver at all times in all weathers.

I was told the drivers only get 70p for each delivery, Don't know how true that is.

I'm pretty sure that's round about the amount.

Yeah we get lots of stuff delivered at work, the drivers are often the same ones, usually pretty cheerful bunch when you get to know them, but I sometimes wonder how they stay cheerful what with the traffic as well.
Quite a lot are E. European which says it all really.

I wouldn't want it. The job I do is a regular timed route collecting samples from local doctors surgeries and taking them to the hospital for analysis. As long as traffic flows freely, the timings are mostly achievable. Its good to work at a steady pace without too much rushing around or , adversely, hanging about. Of course sometimes it all goes belly up and you spend the rest of the day chasing your tail but that is unavoidable. As with everything else in life, you just have to take the good with the bad.

                G.

My delivery man has been so wonderful. He always rings the doorbell before leaving a parcel.

At Christmas and in the summer I give him gift cards for the liquor store. Used to give him coffee shop ones but after a pleasant discussion, discovered that he enjoyed a libation when he'd got home at night.

And he looks like Antonio Banderas and wears shorts most of the year :)

I've had a response from YouGarden, apologising for the quality, but as they've limited stock, they can't replace it with anything better, so would I accept a 50% refund and a full refund if it doesn't survive?

I've responded politely saying that's unacceptable.
(If they've nothing better, why send that out in the first place? I'm not in the business of nursing sick plants)

This was there website photo. OK we don't expect a mature plant but this was taking the proverbial.

                    510603.jpg

Anyway, Dobbies are offering something similar.

As their website photo is only of a leaf, very unhelpful,. I've e-mailed them to ask what can I expect for £23.99?
I included a photo of what YouGarden sent me and politely suggested that if they can't find anything better I won't trouble them.

Sorry DR, am I missing something here ... was the website photo of that plant or a leaf? What photo did you send to YouGarden.

                    Hi, thanks for the interest.

That's the photo from their website.

This is what they sent us. It looked rather poorly, certainly not worth what I paid for it.
