Lovely down that way ,both Devon and Cornwall. We had all our yearly summer holidays down that way when I was a child.
As a teenager I would go Youth Hostelling with friends all around that area too.
Many years later we took our own children there on camping holidays.
    Have a fabulous time..:)

A bit of a breeze yesterday ( and this morning too ), making it a sunny but less humid day. No rain forecast for next week . Had walk on the beach. The sea looked very inviting, I thought about Verdun :)

Three of the plants that I bought from the hardware store earlier in the year have now started flowering. I realised they are actually Marsh Mallow, although the plant labels didn't say that. I bought them as advertised as ' wildlife friendly plants for wild gardens ' . I already have a Marsh Mallow and it is indeed popular with the pollinators, so more is a good thing :).

Watered the baths a few of the posts early evening and a bit of dead heading. The rest of the afternoon was spent sat on a zero g watching my buns and the birds. Mrs Gull fancies becoming a domestic pet I think. She's taken to landing on the back of the zero g or the table right next to me to get food. I went through a stage of trying to discourage her but she wouldn't go away, not even when I removed all the food except hanging feeders :dunno:. Given up trying to persuade her to go away.

I've had my mother in laws old greenhouse, of which the framework was built on Sunday. Today will see the glazing put in it! YAY. I also hope to do a spot of mowing/tidying before Father in Law comes to help me do the glass.

Have a great day gardening all, but stay cool as it's supposed to be getting rather warm! Blooming needs to, I've woken up cold to the bone this morning.

It was too hot out there yesterday, but did get a lot done. Went to the GC and bought a trailing Fuchsia to go in a sparse looking patio pot.

Sowed a lot more seeds for next year too.

Having a break today.....well half a day, meeting up with a friend in town for a CCC....coffee, cake and a chat!!:heehee:

              Have a lovely day!:)

I think maybe....just maybe... Gary is kidding us!!!:rasp:

Attending a funeral today so prob no gardening today. Already hot but what a wind! Always the soothing affect of sea air here in summer but I feel for those in parts of Europe dealing with extremely hot temps.

It was very dull all day yesterday. The temperature didn't get above 15'. Around tea time, the wind got up and it felt rather chilly. I had been in short sleeves all day day and I was shivering some what whilst I ate my tea. Afterwards we sat in the front room with the fire on. Once the chill had died down we turned the fire off.

                    Hi,

Just for a change next year why not come up north to Huddersfield and watch the rain; it's most impressive.

I've been up the mountain this morning on a mission; as usual everything is soaking wet but not actually raining; the ground cover conifer I planted a couple of months ago seen bottom left post #1259 was being smothered by the new meadow I've created so now the conifer is in a new position lower down the garden. I then went round AGAIN with the hoe; every day I'm attacking things which keep popping their heads up which I've not seeded or planted; things are going ballistic due to the rainfall we suffer.

I did enjoy ten minutes quality time in the workshop first thing spraying gloss paint onto the mower components of the mower I'm restoring. :)

We've been running our central heating most of the days; a few years ago I replaced our double glazed window units to the bungalow front; the wooden frames remain perfect even at over 50 years old; the units were the originals but had just started to fog on the inside. I used Pilkington K glass sealed units; this glass is absolutely brilliant; it keeps heat out yet keeps heat in hence even when warm outside it's often quite cold inside so our central heating is still being used.

                    Pilkington K Glass™

                    Kind regards, Colin.

I picked the lot of my blackcurrants and yesterday some raspberries.
Fed some of the roses, got to get more rose food.
I know it's late but i gave the michaelmas daisies the Chelsea chop and pulled some up that was overcrowding the roses.
Hubby was out so i got the secateurs out so he wouldn't see.
He doesn't like me using them because I cut too much.

One job only today, now home and sat back relaxing. Looks like the weekend is going to get hot, bbq time at my companions. She gives me full control of the cooking but she does prep up the salad.
I’ve a customer who in need of a little help and we are going to ask her if she would like to join us too.

That’s nice of you liz the pot :)
Far, far too windy for any bbq here even in this walled garden.:noidea:
Back to see the largest lupin partly flattened, an unsupported dahlia blown over and a couple of other similar things to address so jobs to do there.
Funny though....tall delphiniums still intact, stipa gigantea unaffected, very, very tall thalictrum Elin ok!! Most everything else seems fine:)
Hottest day of the year.....occupied elsewhere to go to the beach......and that wind is a gusty hot one too:sad:

Mist sprayed the acers at around 2.00pm. Watered a few pots whilst I had the hose out.
Turned on the lawn sprinklers for twenty minutes whilst I went in and made a cup of tea.
Will give everything a good water tonight. Particularly the front garden and the big acer. I'll then turn on the leaky hose system that waters the borders and leave it on overnight.
